Tesla Strikes Deal for Supply of Copper Foil for 4680 Batteries with South Korean Solus
The 4680 battery cell is the next-generation battery cell that can boost Tesla’s mileage by 16% compared to the previous generation 2170 cell. Tesla is currently producing their own in-house 4680 cells at Giga Texas and at their Kato Road facility in California.
Tesla Ranks in the 3rd on Most Considered Luxury Brand in US by Kelley Blue Book
Tesla is recognized as the third most considered luxury brand in the US, according to a study called the Brand Watch Luxury Report by Kelley Blue Book. The Q4 2021 report shows that Tesla has moved up to the third place with a 3% increase in popularity compared to Q3 2021. If the Texan manufacturer continues to gain popularity at the current pace, it may win first place next quarter.

Tesla Reaches a 5-Year Lithium Supply Deal with Australia's Liontown Resources
The project will supply more than 150,000 tons of lithium spodumene concentrate per year expecting to start in 2024, representing approximately one-third of the project's start-up SC6.0 production capacity of ~500ktpa. Pricing will be determined by a “formula-based mechanism” based on market prices for lithium hydroxide monohydrate, the company said.

Bridgewater town council has approved the purchase of a Tesla 3 for its police service.Based on conversations with forces already using electric vehicles in Ottawa and Toronto, the mayor said Bridgewater could save between $15,000 and $25,000 in making the switch.

Tesla has launched a new automatic electric trunk for Model 3 as an aftermarket offered directly at service centers. The product is currently only available in China, but like most things Tesla these days, it starts in China and then it is expected to expand to other markets.
